Chinese Zodiac Sign

Are you familiar with Chinese Star Signs? According to this Chinese belief, the animal that rules your year is the animal that rules your heart. I wonder if this is true.

I was born 1979. Following the Chinese zodiac sign, I was born in the year of the Sheep, sometimes called the Goat.

Sheep/Goat years are: 1907, 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027. It’s a 12 year cycle.

The year of the Sheep: is one that will be a time for caring, bringing out creative talent, imagination and emotion, whilst remaining, calm, smooth and slow. "Harmony with moderation" are the key words with a warning about the danger of negativity.

Personality Traits: People born under the year of the Goat/Sheep tend to take on the role of the "good Samaritan". The Sheep is the most feminine sign of all of the Chinese animals. Usually they are very good-natured, genuine, timid and bashful, which can sometimes lead to them being taken 'for a ride' by others. They seem to be, at first glance, better off than those born in the zodiac's other years. But sheep year people are often shy, pessimistic, and puzzled about life. They are usually deeply religious, yet timid by nature.. They are natural born worriers who will always predict and expect the worst. They especially loathe criticism and regulation and sometimes find it difficult to maintain an objective view on things. However they are kindhearted, mild, understanding and very forgiving. They would rather be in a huff than come to blows. On the whole people tend to "care deeply" for them and they will always have the things that they require in life. They have an enduring personality that prefers not to disclose troubles unless really forced to. Sheep people deny themselves nothing and are "hopeless romantics". They are wise, gentle, and compassionate and always passionate about what they do and what they believe in.

Tiger: ( 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010)

The Goat has a difficult relationship with: rat, ox, dragon, rooster

Rat: (1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008)

Dragon ( 1916 - 1928 - 1940 - 1952 - 1964 - 1976 - 1988 )
Rooster ( 1921 - 1933 - 1945 - 1957 - 1969 - 1981 – 1993)

I am not sure if these things are true or not. I was just curious and having fun knowing my chinese zodiac sign. Its quite interesting that most of the sheep traits mentioned are true to me. Is it a mere coincidence?
